What is MSSMixer?
The audio mixers associated with
sound hardware are one of the most difficult components to program in
the Microsoft Windows multimedia system.
MSSMixer is a control for monitoring and setting audio mixers in
Windows, that provides considerable simplifications for an applications
programmer.
Provided in ActiveX and (when registered) DLL variants, with source
code, the control provides a simplified way of setting volumes,
selecting channels, and setting other controls in the mixer. With care,
applications can be developed that will work with a large number of
different mixers whatever sound hardware is installed.
The control software is supplied with extensive
documentation,
interface libraries for VB, Delphi and VC++, and sample programs in VB and Delphi to enable the complexities of programming mixers to be understood and overcome.

Downloading the 30-day evaluation
MSSMixer is released as a 30-day evaluation version for
you to download and try. The evaluation contains a time-limited ActiveX
control, full documentation, sample applications (with source code), and
interface libraries.
Once you've tried it, if you want to keep
using the control after the 30-day evaluation period you will have to buy
a licence (see below).
When you buy a licence, you get the unrestricted control in both
ActiveX and DLL variants, interface libraries, and full source code for
the software.

How to buy
To convert the 30-day evaluation into the unrestricted full product, you must
buy a licence.
There are two types of licence:
 |
Single developer, non-commercial use
(US$39.95):
This licence allows a single developer to develop applications using
the control for non-commercial use only (internal and freeware
applications may include the control royalty-free; applications using
the control may not be sold). |
 |
Single developer, commercial use (US$139.95):
This licence allows a single developer to develop applications using
the control for commercial use. The control may be included with such
applications royalty-free. |
Licences can be bought through RegNow
